What is the Peak Way Challenge?
The Peak Way Challenge is an exciting new walking challenge that aims to get more families out exploring the countryside together.

It is based around the Peak Way long-distance walking trail and is promoted through participating schools, charities, and other organisations.

It's easy to get started on the Challenge:

>> Order a Challenge Pack

The Challenge Pack costs just £15 (when ordered through a participating organisation*) and includes:

  • The official Walking the Peak Way Guidebook (RRP £12.95)
  • Challenge Logbook with over 40 full-colour pages of fun facts, things to spot, puzzles, and a journal page for each stage of the walk
  • Sponsorship Form

The guidebook is supported by the Peak Way website and contains over 100 original colour photographs. As well as a detailed route description, it includes information on facilities, accommodation and points of interest, and Ordnance Survey mapping for the entire route.

The Logbook is designed for children aged 7 to 11 and is also suitable for both older and younger age groups (younger children may need a little help). It's jam-packed with things to do along the way and will become a lovely souvenir of the Peak Way Walk.

>> Sponsorship

Sponsorship is optional but is an excellent way to celebrate your progress and raise funds for your school, favourite charity or other good causes.

It is suggested that sponsorship is per stage rather than per mile, to allow flexibility to modify the route for different ages and abilities whilst still ensuring a real sense of achievement. It's up to you to decide whether a particular stage is "complete".

A sponsorship form is included with the Challenge Pack and it is recommended that funds be collected and donated on at least an annual basis.

>> Walk the Peak Way

There is no time limit for completing the Challenge so you are free to do it at your own pace.

You can complete the stages of the walk in any order you like. Some stages are more challenging than others - if you are not already a confident hiker, you may like to start with one of the easier stages (the difficulty level is indicated in the guidebook).

If you complete all 13 stages of the challenge, you’ll be awarded an exclusive Peak Way Challenge pin badge and be listed on our online Hall of Fame!
